Soulstones, Daemons and SAC

Long time no update, I think I got some explaining to do. Well I got caught up in Diablo III. That game is addictive. But I doesn't mean I haven't been working on a fair amount of epicness concerning minis. I just didn't take the time to post stuff on the blog. I spent a lot of time doing the daemon prince which you can see below.

I started working on the base. I want to show a time freeze effect at the moment of the impact. There will be blood squirting from the paladin's chest, the sword is flying into the air together with the rocks, the ground is shattered and destroyed. Now I need to fuse the whole base with liquid resin to make it a solid piece so the rocks won't fall off easily. After all it is going to be a gaming model. The model itself wasn't forgotten as well. I modified the tail and the toes to make them more fitting to his dynamic posing. It was a suggestion I heard across the forums and they were right. it does make him look much better. I started working on his belly mouth that will be vomiting acid on another paladins back but I'm not sure if it is too much for this model. Already there is much going on on this piece. The wings are now magnetized correctly with 2 magnets for each wing making it always fit in the same place. When I'm done with this guy I will need to make a video update because I feel that the photos can't express the true awesomeness that this model represents.

Now time for the thing that some of you were waiting for SAC (subscriber appreciation contest) I'm going to announce the winner today so keep your eyes open. I can't wait to find out what model I will be working on ^^ Sorry that it took so long.

Have a nice day,
Brovatar

PS: How do you like the Daemon Prince so far?

  1. A great conversion as always. I wonder how it will look after the painting. Cool idea with a stop in time.

  2. I really like this! How balanced is it? It seems a little 'top-heavy' to me. My favorite pic is the one from the Daemon's point of view looking down at the impaled Grey Knight. Great job! Keep up the great work!

  3. It's actually balanced really well the wings transfer the weight of the model to the front making it stand straight with no problem.
