Space Marine Outsole

Today a little sculpting tutti frutti. Ok ok a Tutorial. In this article you can learn how to make fast and easy outsole for your space marines. It can come in use when you are making some conversions and your space marines have their legs placed dynamically above the ground, not standing lifelessly on the base.

Step one. Make two green stuff balls. Try to make them the same size. They should be about the size of a space marine fist, not a power fist of course.

Step two. Place the balls under the models' feet. Try to place them in the center of the feet.

Step three. Place some hand cream on the green stuff. It will prevent green stuff from sticking to your sculpting tools and hands.

Step four. Using your finger make a flat surface of green stuff under the feet. Don't worry if the puti leaves the fringe of the sole, we will deal with that later.

Step five. Now it's time for the secret. To make a nice outsole you will need a screw, that's right a screw. You can use different screws for different effects. If you have more gaps on the screw you will have more sections on the outsole. OK now you need to take the screw and place it on the edge of the foot along its side and gently role it all over the green stuff layer. You should have a nice outsole appear right in front of you.

Now all you need to do is let the green stuff harden and after that, remove all the edges that's left around your soles. A simple hobby knife is good for it.

Here is one example of me using it on a model. If you like this sculpting tutorial let me know and I'll make some more.

Cheers,
Brovatar.
