Protectors of Nocturne

     I present to you finished 1st squad of my Salamander Marines. Those guys have been a pleasure to paint. Still have ten more so got some more painting goodness ahead of me. I feel that this army will present itself really well on the table. I hope I will manage to sell it all in one piece. It would be a shame to see it spread out squad by squad around the world. Anyway, if you are interested in this project right now and want to make it your own you can give me a shout and we'll talk :). Flaming pants

      Still a lot to be done on these guys but I just wanted to give you a second glance on how I'm going to paint my troops. The 1st squad of  five space marines with a Sergeant will accompany Vulkan in a Razorback. I wanted to give them something extra. That's why they have flames on their legs. The rest will only have this feature on their right shoulders. I still need to add salamander symbol on the left ones, finish up eyes, purity seals and a bunch of other stuff. This project will consume more time that I expected but I'll do my best to have it done as soon as possible.

Don't step on the lava

      So I've started painting Salamanders and I'm happy with my results so far. I'm really excited about how it's going to turn out as a whole. For now I've got a dreadnought work in progress photo for you but he's almost done. I still need to add weathering and paint the weapons of course. Anyway you can see the color scheme and get a general feel where I'm going with this project. Dragon's flu

      Hey, not much today but got Isabella ready for primming and I also did some sculpting on the rhino. Can't wait to paint these two things ^^. I'll get to it probably tomorrow.

     For Isabella I switched her dagger for a short sword and I added four tormented souls summoned by our Lady of the Night. My client has his army themed mostly around ethereal creatures so I wanted to give her an aspect of that as well.

     As for the rhino I decorated side doors with one of the salamander chapter's symbol. It turned out quite nice in comparison to the original. The bigger pair of horns is a bit too big but I think it's OK. Certainly, you won't mistake it for a chaos symbol or anything else. At this point the symbol looks like a Dragon's head with a bad case of flu xD. I'll do a comparison photo when I finish painting the symbol.

Volcanic Mountain Scouts

     Through the volcanic mountains and lava-filled rivers they travel to seek any danger that can come to harm their beloved people of Nocturne. It's a broad and dangerous waste land that doesn't forgive mistakes. That's why only the most tough and resistant space marines can belong to Scout Squads. Their duties don't end on simple reconnaissance missions. They also specialize in setting ambushes and traps for advancing enemy troops. Using the perfect knowledge of their home world to their advantage.

     Taking this into acount I decided to convert original scouts to make them look more fierce. Using some space wolves and chaos maruders bits I think I accomplished just that. Need to make some final tweaking and off to painting.

      Also guys, I picked up Isabella Von Carstein from my local miniature shop so you will be seeing a lot of Isabella from now on.
And they never saw her again...
Whatsuuuup!!!
Just kidding, that's a HIMYM reference. I will be painting her in next few day so keep your eyes open.

Minion Studio?

       What's Minion Studio you ask. Minion Studio is a new born project that few of my friends and I are working on. It's a painting/converting/basing/everything miniature studio which soul purpose is to bring you a proffessional service of painting miniatures for your gaming tables.

More Marines

      Hello there. More progress on th salamander project. Two tactical squads almost done, just need to get some Power Fists and I'll have them ready for painting. The first group is meant to travel in a razorback with the Forgefather. They have a Flamer, Sergeant with a PF and three tactical marines which makes a total of six guys. The second squad is a group of ten men. They travel in a rhino, the one you saw before. They also have a Sergeant with a PF, a flame thrower and a missile-launcher.

      I leave you with a WIP of a Sergeant from the scout squad. I equipped him with a combi-melta gun and ofc yet another PF. Did anyone noticed where I'm going to get all those Fists ? ;p

Nocturne

     The Salamander chapter is not like any other: "...as a Chapter are unusually concerned with civilian casualties compared to most other Space Marines and believe that one of their most important duties is to protect the lives of the Emperor of Mankind's innocent subjects whenever and wherever possible. This is an attitude that developed as a consequence of the Salamanders' own unusually close connections to the Nocturnean people, as they are one of the only Chapters of Astartes who continue to interact with their families and the people of their homeworld after their transformation into Space Marines..." Taking this into account I decided to base the whole salamander force on lava bases to represent Nocturne. This is what I've come up with:

I got more bases then I need. Now it's time to finish building all the minis and go straight to painting.

ONE MONTH CHALLENGE

Hello it's been a while...
     There were some things happening and I left you all without any updates. But now , now all is going to change. I'm going to do more things and I'll do them faster, more efficient, more often and the most important MORE AWESOME !!! This is why you are coming here, you want to see some awesome stuff. Well I will tell you shit just got real!.

     From now I'm launching project ONE MONTH CHALLENGE!!! I'll make a list of projects that I will hope to complete all in just one month or what's left of it. Until April ends I will have completed
  1. Green as a Lizard Project: A starter army of Space Marines Salamander chapter with custom-made Vulkan, Lava bases, and all awesome stuff.
  2. "Which page massster.." Project: I will finish The necromancer Project that I've started in February.
  3. Asdrubael Vect Conversion :  Dark Eldar special character commission for a client from miniwargaming!
  4. New Empire release: I will paint 2 chosen by me Empire sets for eBay!
  5. Daemon prince of Tzeentch : This one is going to be a surprise for all of you. I'm going to use a special type of painting technique that I will need to develop first.
  6.Isabela Van Carstein: If all goes well I will have another commission to paint Isabela Van Carstein.
   7. Cast one of my sculpts! This one is most important for me.
  

     The first position will be the biggest to get done so I can't waste any time. Step one get the materials. Most of them I already have. I need to pick up some more SM's and Scouts. For Nocturne homeworld of Vulkan and the salamander chapter I need lava bases ... checked. Here they are:

 

 Goal for tomorrow is to paint the bases and get all the bits and models for project No. 1. Wish me luck!
