Rotting skin

I have been known to make some models look more rotting like or turn some humans in zombies. Today I'm going to show you a simple way how to make some deformations on the skin.

First thing you need to do is prepare a model. The surface should be clean and ready for some conversion action. For this example I'm going to use the shoulder of the wing arm of a Daemon Prince of Nurgle.

Second step is to make few cuts on the spot we want to convert.

Now you need to prepare a little sheet of green stuff  a thin one like a 0,5-1 mm. When you have your GS ready, apply a small drop of glue to the cut surface.

Now place your GS on the glue.

Now using a clay shaper, spreed the green stuff across the part and try to make it blend in to the surface.

When you have that ready, using a sculpting knife you can start making holes in the skin. I find that the best way for me to do it is to stick the knife into the green stuff and start moving it around to create holes. This way the holes are surrounded by more green stuff giving the imitation of a rotting wound.

This is how it looks all painted up. You can check out the full model over here.
