Wash twice

I found some old Photos of High Elves me and my wife painted up for the premier of the "Island of Blood". And I realized that I haven't showed the Gryphon on the Blog so now I'm doing it.

There is an interesting thing about wash I learnt thanks to this model and I would like to share that with you. As you can see all of the gryphon's feathers are brown. They were painted with Bleached bone first and washed with some gryphon sepia. The cool thing that I did here is that I washed the last section of the wings with a second coat of the wash giving a darker color and creating contrast between the sections. I think that washing twice is quite a useful tool so keep it in mind.
