Quick Studio Update

So let's get to it really fast. We have tons of material to show to you guys but really don't have time to do it.

First take a peek on those beautiful bases painted in the green marble style. Those will be used on the Imperial Fists army we are painting atm. These are our design and casted bases and will be available on our webstore soon. If you want to get them right away painted or not contact us via info@denofimagination.com

Secondly we are expanding the Daemon Army we did a while ago ---> [HERE]. Brovatar will show you what he added to those boys to make them more unique soon.

And... that's what you get when you make a Space Marine Special Offer...

Hive Seekers

KHORNE! Hey guys I'm in my Khorne Days rage paint hehe. Heavy music and painting some brutal miniatures. Damn I'm so all over this project. The dread is the bomb in this one he is sooo filled with goodness on top of what he has in those pics he will have a Banner top with some freehand action going around. For now I got the armor airbrushed and added some shadows with few layers of wash.

Dead tyranid bases wip . Still need to add some green tyranid blood on the ground. Nothing says Khorne like a ton of skulls on your bases ^^.

The crew is also a group of uniqe individuala. Not doing this for gaming makes the project open for such things like a chaos stormshield, whaaaaaat!? Yeah we have that sometimes ;p.
They are going to rock so much when they are done oh boy.

PS: How do you like the Tyranid World Eaters logo for the project?

Lurking in the Den

Hey miniature fans. So I want to let you know what's going on these days at Den of Imagination Studio. We have a cool Dark Angels army shaping up really quickly.

The list contains:
-Azrael
-Ezekiel
-Two squads of Tactical Rins
-Five Veterans
-Five Terminators
-Two Predators
-Whirlwind
-Nephilim Jeyfighter
-Drop pod
-Landraider

Two of the units you saw already: the Terminators and the Nephilim Jetfighter. Now it's time for the rest. I really have fun with the Landraider at the moment which you can see from the first picture ^^.  When I see those Dark Angels I want to build such an army for myself.

There were also some bases ordered for a Necron army.

And I can't forget about the Necron armies that are building up at the studio. Kosa and Bania are throwing all they got into those guys! All original themed and with a different idea. I can't choose which one is my favorite.

We are almost at our 1k mark. Thank you all for supporting us and if you are new here, check out our first give away. And remember that after the first one there is always a second one ^^.

It's Important to have a good base

Hi! I have been testing out some of my new Vallejo Air paints and I got to tell you I did a lot of air brushing today. I started a huge chunk of bases for my Dark Angels project, those are pre-wash/drybrush faze so they look a little flat. When I look at such thing and think that I could have been doing it with a brush ohhh myyy... I can't imagine a life without an airbrush now. This took me just an hour or so to paint up to this state. I would probably spend a whole day doing it with a brush. Especially when it comes to those spaces between the tiles. How annoying is that to paint with a brush come on.

All those bases are sculpted and cast by me from scratch. Despite few bubbles I'm quite pleased with them. I'd like to mention the ruined pillar on the Flyer's base that is from Minimonsters. I thing it fits nicely to the whole ruined temple theme. I totally recommend buying those pillars if you need to do some temple stuff.

Here are some pre-grassed ones almost done for some new bikes.

Thoughts from the Depth #4

Hello Ladies and Gents, I hope everyone had an excellent Christmas and that all of you feel recharged and ready for some painting, building and wargaming. Having more time on my hands during those Christmas days I started working on the Dark Angels. Ravenwing the Second Company, as the fast attacking force of the Dark Angels went first. I've already painted one up so I got only six left to go. You can see a small gallery of this guy below.

I really like the dirty tire effect I managed to achieve using only water and Vallejo Pigments: Light Yellow  Ochre and Brown Iron Oxide. It does look really cool .

For all my Dark Angel I'm preparing some temple ruin bases. After all the hard work I have put up in building up all those bases I thought that it can't go to waste on one army. So I decided to make molds and I casted some bases. If anyone of you would like to have some of those bases let me know and I will get back to you ASAP. You can see one of the cast already painted up and under it another work in progress for the Flyers.

And for the end I leave you with a sergeant teaser....

Khorne Force is coming

Lately I decided to do something with my Chaos Space Marines that I have left from the Dark Vengeance box set. So I searched my bits and gathered all Chaos that was laying around. A Daemon Prince, Hellbrute, Chosen SMs, CSM and a Chaos Lord was all I could find. So without hesitation I started building up some models. This is what I have build so far:

It's a nice start, I plan on doing a nice wooden display base to make those models suitable for gaming and also display purpose. The Daemon Prince will be flying above the lava and the rest of the force will be advancing through a chaos wasteland. Hope you got excited the same as I did.

Desert Sand Dunes

Hello Ladies and Gents. Today I'm going to show you how to make Desert Sand Dunes on your Wargaming Bases. To do such a thing you will require wargaming base, PVA glue, modelling sand, a piece of green stuff, some brushes and some hand cream or any other cream.

Step one.
Mix your Green Stuff 1:1 and put it on your base. Try to make a flat surface but not too thin.

Step two.
Now using some hand cream, spread the green stuff over the whole base. If you want some higher ground on it it's best that you push more green stuff to that side at this step.

Step three.
Cover the wooden end of your brush with hand creem and use it to make depressions in the green stuff's surfaces.  Be sure to make them parallel, try to achieve a natural pattern. Make those depressions deep, the sand will fill them up later. When shaping the recesses do it from the edge of the base towards the center. That way you will avoid green stuff getting onto the side of your base.

Step four.
When the sculpting is done you can glue some bits like skulls, bones or some vehicle parts to the base and you can put some rocks on the base as well. At this point the base needs to be set aside and you should wait a couple of hours so the green stuff hardens.

Step five.
When the green stuff is hard you need to wash the base with soap to get rid of the cream. Dry out the base. Now put some PVA glue on the base. With delicate strokes along the recess spread the glue. Try not to cover the whole pattern made out of green stuff with the PVA glue. Now cover the base with sand and let it dry.
And that's how you do a sand base. I leave you with some Sand Dune photos so you will have some point of reference when working on your bases. I'll try to put up a painting tutorial on this base in a few days.
