     First unit for the new Dark Angels army. I like how the client suggested to do the wings and some decorative details in red. It gives them a unique look but not diverting from the classic Deathwing scheme.

Thoughts from the Depth #6

      Hey everyone. We are really getting busy this year. To think that a year ago this was just me and now many people are getting involved in the growth of the DoI. It's already looking really nice and what's to come is going to be hopefully even better. Currently we are in the transition phase to a fully equipped studio location. When it's all furnished and ready for the public eye I'll post some pics in here. I must say this makes me really happy. 

     Ok, now it's to review what's going on and what you can expect in the near future from the studio. Karol " KreoL" is working on a Master Class Belial paintjob. It's a really interested cooperation between me and him I made the model and the whole scenery and he is bringing him to life with his mad painting skills. Can't wait to see him finished.

   The big package of Necrons just flow in and we can start building up the big Rusty Necron fleet. The whole army will include:

- Destroyer Lord

- 12 Canoptek Wraiths
- 20 Warriors

- 6 Bases of Scarab swarms

- 4 Night Scythes

- 3 Doom Scythes

    During the wait for the models to arrive to the studio we already started working on the desert bases for the army.

     This is how the whole army will look like ( without the models hehe ). As you can see the squads are separated into groups. Warriors for example, four groups of:
-Tiles + Scarab
-Tiles
-Desert + Scarab
-Desert
and into two groups:

-Tiles
-Desert

Sorry for the yellowish color on the photo. 

     Space wolves are in the works as well, some bikers and banners waiting for freehand. There are many projects waiting for their turns but with constant reinforcements in form of extra hands they will get done really soon.

Making your own Belial

     When the new Dark Angels were released, the Deathwing finally received the model for Master Belial. With that model there was a release of the Dethwing Knights. In that box we have almost all the bits we need to make our own version of Belial. For making him complete I took a shield-shaped decorative piece from the Grey Knight terminator box, a regular standard to which I attached two scrolls. I would have attached one to each side but I ran out of scrolls. Also I placed a Dark Angel symbol on top of the standard.

     The teminator box set contains Belial's exact right shoulder pad and the double sword cross left shoulder pad but without bolts. I also made his decorative halo. I just needed to add a single lens.

      This model will be painted by a very talented artist Karol who is returning to painting after a long break.  I hope that after he is done with Belial we will see a lot more work from him.

Bone white armor

     This is a beginning of a Deathwing army. There will be a total of 32 Terminator armored Space Marines ready to withstand all enemy fire. If the gods are good they are going to have a nice ruined temple display board. It's gonna be cool!

Dark Angels OM NOM NOM

    Hey guys, I got a present for all you Dark Angel lovers. Influenced by recent news I'm going to begin working on a massive amount of Dark Angels. The list is long and will grow most probably. For now there is all that's on the pictures and about 30 Tactical guys that I haven't photographed yet. 

  I got seven Ravenwing bikes, two Squads with a sergeant and a plasma gun. I like what they did in the Dark Vengeance box set with angling the wings of the bike a bit to the back but the old ones are quite nice as well.

    I also have been building up a veteran unit of Dark Angels, don't know if eight guys is enough.

    DEATHWING! Ohhh yeah I just love the Deathwing, it's one of my favorite armies. I'll probably do about 30-40 of those so it's going to be a lot of room for some neat conversions which makes me soo happy.

   I took the head from Chaplain Seraphicus and made another chaplain based on it. I think he's quite ok. He's the guy in the left side of the picture. So now I got a total of 4 Chaplains a Chapter Master and a Librarian.

Thoughts from the Depth #1

     It's been a fruitful week. I managed to do some good stuff. Finished the Daemon Prince, got started on the German Orc, posted a sculpting tutorial. I think I like the direction in which everything is heading. People accepted my new layout and the whole name change. Most importantly I like it better now and I have a feeling that everything is looking more professional on the site.

   Now I have few projects started at once but the biggest priority goes to the Orc and Pre Heresy Horus. Yep going to build Horus in none chaos theme. After that I'll probably finish up that Khorne force.

   I was talking about starting a Death Wing army few weeks ago but now I have a bag of terminator waiting for the codex. I figured that it's no sense doing an army right before the new release. This one will be my personal army for 40k, hope that it's going to kick ass. There is a really good chance for that because it will be written by the same guy who wrote new Necrons and Gray Knights. But that codex will probably be released in December so you won't see any Dark Angel action going on for some time.

    On the other hand I was thinking of a plan how to spread my activity on the Net and I thought that doing something entirely different from the GW franchise would be a good idea. I plan on doing something from the Diablo III Game and try to get it on their Facebook site to score some likes. But I'm not going to tell you what character I'm going to build. You will have to wait for it.

   Oh I almost forgot, I will be launching an indiegogo campaign to build something that will kick ass so hard that it will make your brain explode. But I don't have the money to do it that's why I'll resort to Indiegogo, wish me luck on that one.

Death Wing? Hell Yeah!

     Due to the Dark Vengeance release I took some time to start a new project that has been going around my head for quite some time now. Dark Angel Death Wing army for myself. Oh yes bunch of guys with 2+ As and a 3+ Is from storm shields. I plan on getting 10 Termies from the DV set and some more from different kits. I have already made my Leader Belial from a Grey Knight Paladin. I'm still thinking of covering the lettering on his armor and giving him more Dark Angel iconography but he is pretty much done, also those hands are magnetized. With his Initiative of 5 those Claws make for a really good CC weapon for him but he loses his survival-ability without a Storm Shield so I will add those hands for option as well.

     This army isn't so big in number and that allows to give it a little extra effort and make it look sweet. For a start I'm going to do 20-25 Termies + Belial and a Chaplain also in Terminator armor. It's going to be awesome.

PS: any ideas on what I could add to the Belial model to make him look more awesome ?
