Unholy Temple

Today I have been working on the base for one of my Daemon Princes. The main idea is to make it look like the Changer of Ways is creating a chaos building as he approaches. "The ground and tiles appear under his feet, the battlefield is altering according to his will and the Daemon world breaks through to the mortal realm." I hope I will achieve a climate of terror with this model. I can't wait to start painting this guy. I also made a victim. It will be an Ultramarine who is already mutated by the Daemon's foul magic into a bird-thing. Also there are horrors crawling out of his belly.

Winged horrors

Here are some photos of stuff I'm currently working on. Some Daemon Princes, one for fantasy, one for 40k and a ghoul king for Vampire Counts.

The Fantasy DP will be most likely painted black to represent the undivided forces of Chaos. He's made from a Daemon Prince plastic box, head from old Bloodthirstier, body and wings from new Vargheist and hands from an ogre and a crypt horror. I think he has a unique and cool look.

The ghoul king is converted only by using the wings from the Vargheist box. I really like his gargoyle-like appearance and the dynamic pose. Now it's time to bring this mini to life with paint ^^.

The last of the winged monstrosities is what I like to call the Daemon Parrot Prince of  Tzeentch. I have a really cool idea when it comes to basing this guy. Hope I'll make an impression with this one.

Also I'm working on a commission for a Death Korps of Krieg communed group but Forge World is delaying the package for unknown reason and I have to wait for the minis but I think they will arrive tomorrow. The main goal is to make them more dynamic and fighting some enemies off in melee combat. I already started to gather up materials for the conversion. The IG traitor will be the first victim of the DKOK command .

PS: Don't miss my Vampire Counts sale: Here!

Till next time,

Eternal Vampires

The only way to kill a Vampire is to spread his remains, ashes around the world so he will have a hard time coming back to life. That's exactly what I'm doing with my old Vampire Counts. I'm not selling everything just yet but probably there will be a second wave. There still is a chance that all those models will reach one destination and The Vampire Lord will lead his army once again ^^.

Okey, enough of story talk. I would like to invite you all to my Vampire Counts Auction extravaganza. The prices are fairly low so if you have not enough zombies in your army, need a new Cool Vampire Lord on a Hellsteed or just want to start collecting Vampire Counts, now you have a chance. You can always buy some model as a gift to a friend. Full listing!

The reason behind my selling my Fantasy Army is that I'm moving my assaults into S-FI airspace. I'm testing out a new army list for the 6th edition of Warhammer 40k. It's based on Necron Doom Scythes and Night Scythes. It gives me the advantage of being off the table when the game begins. That brings me to having the first round of heavy shooting. I'm still a bit sceptic about it but a Necron Fleet army list is something that most definitely will look awesome on the battlefield.

Salamanders in 3D

Here they are in more glory. Nothing brings a model to life like seeing it with our own eyes. But for now a video will have to be enough for you! Enjoy!

Have a nice day,

Salamanders on eBay

"Hell, it's about time" as of yesterday night the Salamanders are now on eBay preparing for their first battle. I haven't tested them out on the battlefield to keep them fresh ^^. I really hope that the time spend on this project will give me an opportunity to make another army even bigger.  Thanks for enormous feedback from you guys on the forum. I managed to achieve what in my opinion is an awesome looking army. Which army should I make next ?

Also, if you could help me out, this army needs some ratings on CMoN
For any additional details visit my the eBay auction.

How To Paint Space Marine Salamanders

Many people like the color tone on my salamanders and I received many questions on how I achieved such a vibrant color on those marines. So I decided to make a tutorial on painting their Power Armour. This insets a strict codex color of the Salamander Chapter but it gives the model a more live look which makes them look much better on the gaming table

Step1. After priming the miniature with Games Workshop Skull White, I airbrushed the whole model with a layer paint Moot Green.

Step2. After it dried, I shaded the whole model with Biel-Tan Green. I applied a full coat of slightly watered down wash to make the whole mini darker and shade all the gaps.

Step3. Using Moot Green I highlighted the upper areas of the feet, legs, backpack, shoulders, hands and head.
Step4. I continued highlighting using Moot Green and Flesh Gitz Yellow mixing it with a ratio of 2:1 and then 1:1.

Step5. The final highlight was done with a Mix of Green and Yellow 1:2. After that, I painted all the details of the model.

You can find some examples of finished units painted using this method over here:

Hope this tutorial will help. Have a nice day,

Space Marine Sergeant

Not much to say about this one. Just a Space marine Sergeant ? Does any one have an idea to which army/chapter would this guy fit the best? The base is from Minion-Studio.

The Rotten

It's here. Not an easy model to paint I tell you. Setting its size aside the base was giving me so many problems when painting the Daemon. But it's done.

Someone asked me about the full bits list so here it goes:
-Force sword and the victim are from Grey Knights Paladins
-Chaos Daemon Prince for the torso, head, tail and arms.
-The weapon was made by using Crypt Ghouls and Zombie heads
-Wings are from Zombie Dragon kit
-There is a head on a chain from Corpse Cart set
-Hook on a chain from Chaos Marauder Horsemen box
-Space Marine corpse is a bit from Crypt Horrors + one Tactical Marine head
-Spiked Balls on the tail end are also from Marauders Horsemen and the tail extension is from the Carnifex kit
-Legs are from the Zombie Dragon Kit

I'm sure that I forgot something but don't blame me, it took a lot of different bits ;p

Cheers,
Brovatar.

WIP DPoN

Back from the Dead. Haven't been posting any updates on the blog lately. I used most of my free time to paint up this time-consuming behemoth which is the Daemon Prince of Nurgle. Still deep in the woods with this one but I'm getting there. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, my stand got damaged so I had to hold my camera.

At the end of next week I'm going to put up my old Vampire Counts Army on eBay auction. I never thought that it would come to this but at my house they are only gathering dust while they could be of use somewhere else.

If you have any suggestions about the Daemon Prince feel free to leave a comment and if you like what I do, please follow me on facebook.

And on a side note, I have a second cat now. Hope you like him, his name is Rico and he likes to throw my paints to the floor. :)

Have a nice weekend and thanks for reading,
Brovatar

The Forgefather

I finished Vulkan Hestan, the Salamander Chapter Primark. My favorite think about this model is his purity seal on his power weapon, I made if from a thin metal plate. Now the whole Green as a Lizard Project is finished and all that's left is some nice group photos and a nice case for them and they will be set to go on eBay and get ready to fight their 1st battle.

Have a nice day,
